Seven-time letter winner in football and wrestling.
During his dominant 4-year wrestling career, he was a four-time Conference Champion, a four-time Sectional Champion, a two-time Regional Champion, and a two-time Semi-State Champion.
Qualified for the State Finals three times, placing fourth his senior year.
31 years after graduating, still holds the Lakeland record for career wrestling victories with 136.
In addition to his high school victories, he also won several regional and national wrestling tournaments including the USA Wrestling Great Lakes Tourney, the USA Wrestling Southeast Regional Tourney, and the Texas Cotton Bowl Classic.
Traveled to the Soviet Union to train for two weeks with their future Olympians.
Over the past 30 years, he has coached and assisted with many levels of football, wrestling, and soccer at Lakeland and other area schools.
Coached Lakeland’s varsity wrestling team for two years, leading one athlete to a seventh place finish at the State Finals during his time.
Lives in Topeka with his wife Wendy. The couple have four children, Dalton, Teague, Beckham, and Cael.
