His 7 Sectional Championships were won in 1972, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, and 1980. Coach Emerick also was able to coach two athletes to the IHSAA State meet. Those athletes were Kirby Glick and Bill Sumpter.

Coach Emerick is unable to be in attendance tonight, as he lives in South Carolina. But while communicating this honor, Bob continuously gave praise to all of the hard work he witnessed from his athletes, the support of the Administrators and student-body, as well as the community of LaGrange. He communicated that his time with Lakeland High School was incredibly rewarding and it will forever be remembered.
