Aime Burger is a 1995 graduate from Lakeland High School. She earned 4 varsity letters in cross country, 4 varsity letters in basketball, 3 in track & field, and 1 varsity letter in softball. Totaling in 12 varsity letters!
Within cross-country, Aime found individual and team success. During the 1992 season, Aime and the cross country team won the NECC title, and also qualified for the IHSAA Semi-State meet. In 1993, her and the team were able to qualify for the IHSAA Regional meet, and she was also named an NECC All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.
In Basketball, Aime excelled! She holds records in the following:
? Career record for most steals - 312
? Most steals in a season - 107
? Most steals in one game - 11
? Best FT% in a season - 79.7%
? She’s 2nd all-time in career 3-pointers made - 133
? She's 5th all time in career assists - 223
And she is currently 6th all-time in scoring for the Lakeland Girls Basketball program.
On top of that, Aime was selected to the NECC All-Conference Team in 1993, 1994, and 1995! She was a part of the 1993 and 1995 NECC Tournament Championship Team, and the 1995 NECC Regular Season Championship Team. In 1994, Aime helped lead the Girls Basketball Team to an IHSAA Sectional Championship!
Within the sport of track and field, Aime is currently:
? 4th on the career list for the 100 meter hurdles - 16.4
? 6th on the career list for the 300 meter hurdles - 50.16 ? Tied for 8th on the career list for high jump - 5ft.
She was also able to contribute towards the 1993, 1994, and 1995 NECC Team Championships, and the 1995 IHSAA Sectional Team Championship!
Also, in the spring of 1992, while doubling up on sports with softball, Amie played a role as the starting outfielder for the NECC Tournament Championship softball team!
Amie wasn’t done with sports after Lakeland. She went on to Glen Oaks Community College and excelled in basketball.
? Received several all-tournament team honors
? Named to the Great lakes Region All-Region Team 1995-1996 season. ? Named to the Western Conference All-State Team in 1996-1997 season.
? Was the Region 12 Tournament MVP in the 1996-1997 season. ? Was named to the National All-Tournament Team at the National Tournament during the 1996-1997 team.
? Was a 2nd team All-American
? Glen Oaks finished 5th place nationally during the 1996-1997 season. ? Was awarded the Team Sportsmanship Award at Nationals. ? Was the first student-athlete inducted into the Glen Oaks Hall of Fame in 2016.
After Glen Oaks, Aime finished her basketball career at Indiana University - South Bend. She continued to earn multiple honors and accolades:
? Several conference player of the week honors
? Several MVP/All-Tournament Team honors
? Was a Chicagoland 1st Team All-Conference Recipient during the 1997-1998 season and the 1998-1999 season.
? Was named the Chicagoland Conference player of the year in 1999. ? Was a NAIA Division I and II Women’s Basketball National player of the week in 1998.
? Was named a 3rd Team All-American during the 1997-1998 season and the 1998-1999 season.
? Was a part of back to back Chicagoland Conference Championship Teams in 1998 and 1999.
? Had back to back National Championship appearances in 1998 and 1999.

? Most points scored in a season - 598 points.
? Most 3-pointers made in a season - 146
? Best FT% in a career - 75%
Since her playing days, Aime has served as a coach in order to continue her impact on the sport:
? Sturgis Varsity Girls Head Coach from 2013 - 2018. She won the 2015 District Championship and won the 2016 South Conference Championship.
? Served as the Lakeland Varsity Assistant during the 2005-2006 season, in which they won the NECC Tournament Championship, and is now currently coaching in the same capacity at Lakeland.
